The wintry west extends his blast, And hail and rain does blaw; Or the stormy north sends driving forth The blinding sleet and snaw: While, tumbling brown, the burn comes down, And roars frae bank to brae; And bird and beast in covert rest, And pass the heartless day. "The sweeping blast, the sky o'ercast," The joyless winter day Let others fear, to me more dear Than all the pride of May: The tempest's howl, it soothes my soul, My griefs it seems to join; The leafless trees my fancy please, Their fate resembles mine! Thou Power Supreme, whose mighty scheme These woes of mine fulfil, Here firm I rest; they must be best, Because they are Thy will! Then all I want-O do Thou grant This one request of mine!- Since to enjoy Thou dost deny, Assist me to resign.

This road is familiar It worries me... For all the faces I've seen in my deepest dreams lead me down the path Still I follow on. Nothing can stop it... There is no respite from the endless trail Down and to the North we go Up ahead of me the gates loom Down the underground trail That only unfortunate and evil men have seen The old and sick all around Helheim is near When I am gone Remember me... Of my smiles and laughter Not my evil deeds Shed no tears for me... I am free of this world Walking down the path Helveien Walking along a path blind This valley is so deep I cannot see anything... The giantess Modgud Guarding Gjallarbru A frightening sight... Have I wasted my life? Have I wasted my love? Can you give me another chance? I have wasted life... I have wasted love... I don't deserve another chance... The gates of Helheim loom At the end of the underground trail That only evil and unfortunate and evil men have seen When I am gone Remember me... Of my smiles and laughter Not my evil deeds When I am gone Remember me... Of my smiles and laughter Not my evil deeds Shed no tears for me... I am free of this world Walking down the path Helveien

Onwards ... The rain falls hard The wind blows strong A ship sailing slowly across the sea Onwards through the night A night so dark A night so black Filled with the memories that remain Of home so far behind The ocean is wide The ocean is deep A man passing slowly over the waves Searching for a light of hope Hope so faint Hope so sweet A promise of new life carrying him away Towards a distant shore Searching...

My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here, My heart's in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer; Chasing the wild-deer, and following the roe, My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go. Farewell to the mountains, high-cover'd with snow, Farewell to the straths and green valleys below; Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods, Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods. Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North, The birth-place of Valour, the country of Worth; Wherever I wander, wherever I rove, The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.

This vast expanse an entity untamed. Blurred horizon a measure of what's gained. Sands stir under vast demons lay. Await the nightfall and what the seers may say. Deep night, reprieve from giants heat. Restless mind stirs, whilst demons sleep. Enter shadow, and treacherous decay. Certain doom awaits, its what the seers did say. Red giant. Burning giant. The eye of progress. The winds of change

Come walk with me, come walk with an air of malicious intent. Dead weight in my arms, her hair snakes inky black tendrils of mist in anticipation of the horror to come. The sound in the halls is the clicking of bones on stone. The smell of copper and mould, is the rotting of my soul. The sound in the halls, the sound in the halls. Only grey maps the land. This devastation wrought by my hands! Their fervent denial of the death plague I hold in them. Molten bone at my feet, bubbles to me the stench of man ground to muck by my hunger. Bloody hands beneath the ground, support towers of desecration where in agonising splendour I, necromancer knit together the bones from a cull of children. I want to feel the blade, eviscerate my throat - turn this power inside until my blood paints the sky. Inside my heart is pumping only mud.

about

Focusing on bands that play Glasgow/Edinburgh often, Morgul spent fresher's week 2014 handing out free CDs to interested freshers, students, and gig-goers which featured some of the very best Scottish metal, in an effort to increase interest in local talent and gig-attendance.

MORGUL organise the annual underground metal festival North of the Wall in Glasgow. www.facebook.com/thenorthofthewall
